Other info:Ordered on 22nd August 1807. Armament. 74 guns.– Gundeck 28 x 32 pdrs – Upper gundeck 28 x 18 pdrs – Quarterdeck 4 x 12 pdrs, 10 x 32 pdr carronades – Forecastle 2 x 12 pdrs, 2 x 32 pdr carronades – Poop deck 6 x 18 pdr carronades.
Cost £58,329 + £43 extra.
History:23rd April 1811. Sailed from Plymouth for North America, with timber ships to load timber for the dockyards.
6th July 1811. Arrived at Deal from Sheerness.
4th September 1811. Sailed from Portsmouth with a convoy for the Mediterranean.
9/10 May 1812. The ships’ boats of the ‘America’, ‘Leviathan’, ‘Imperieuse’ and ‘Éclair’, involved in operations against French convoys in the Languelia and Alassio district.
11th June 1812. Had action, in shore, off the island of Sainte-Marguerite, by the ‘Swallow’, with the French brig-corvette ‘Renard’ and schooner ‘Goeland’, when in the company of the ‘Curacoa’.
18th August 1812. Off Toulon.
21st September 1814. Arrived at Plymouth from Genoa.
21st October 1814. Was reported to have sailed for Portsmouth, and to have been paid off.
July 1830. Been reduced to a 4th Rate at Plymouth. 50 Guns.
2nd January 1836. At Plymouth and was rumoured that she is to be prepared for sea service.
January 1840. Out of Commission at Plymouth.
23rd December 1841. At Plymouth, to be fitted with Captain Couch’s patent channels.
22nd February 1844. Commanded by Captain John Gordon in the Pacific.
June 1845. Reported to be on the California coast.
10th November 1846. Commanded by Captain Thomas Maitland off the coast of Portugal.
January 1848. In Devonport.
20th December 1848. Still in Devonport.
1860. In Devonport.
1864. Used as a target ship.
1867. Out of Commission.
